Cllr June Slaughter
I am privileged to have been a member of Bexley Council since 1974, and have represented Sidcup residents throughout this time. Sidcup has been my home since 1975.
I am a retired solicitor, in my spare time I belong to several local groups including Sidcup Community Garden Group, Friends of Footscray Meadows, Sidcup Literary & Scientific Society and Lamorbey & Sidcup History Society.
Since I was first elected, I have held a variety of positions and am currently Chairman of the Licensing Committee. I have supported residents in a number of campaigns, such as “We Want Waitrose” and the group to save Old Farm Park.
I am particularly interested in Town Planning. I regularly assist residents in supporting or objecting to Planning Applications. I feel we must use the Planning Process to ensure better quality buildings. I firmly believe we should conserve Bexley’s historic buildings.
